Bobo the Mascot!
On Tuesday night I was a mascot for our match against Arsenal in the Champions League. My Dad won a competition and the prize was 2 tickets to the match and the chance to be a mascot. Me and my Dad already had tickets, so my Mum and Sister had the free ones. Me and my Dad were in the Kop as usual, and they went in the main stand with the rest of the mascots and their mums and dads.
When my Dad told me he had won I was really scared, but we talked about it and I felt much better after. By the time Tuesday came I was really excited! I had to go to school for a bit first, but then my Mum picked me up. After lunch we went up to Liverpool. We had to be there early because all the mascots had to get dressed and have a rehearsal (but not on the pitch!). Liverpool legend Brian Hall showed us what to do. Then, after some tea, we all got on a posh coach a bit like the ones the players use and went to Anfield.
We walked to a special door at the ground and all the mascots went in while our mums and dads went and sat down. When we were inside the ground we all lined up inside before we went out to line up by the pitch and waited for the players. It was very strange standing on the grass instead of sitting in a seat! We had to line up off the turf – just by the side. All the singing was very loud. It was unusual because the Arsenal fans were singing, and I’ve never heard that before
Pretty soon we were singing You’ll Never Walk Alone and I knew the players would be coming soon. I was wearing a long sleeved Liverpool kit, so that meant I would be holding an Arsenal player’s hand, but I didn’t know who it would be. It turned out to be Kolo Toure, the Arsenal defender. I was the last person in the line, and I was in front of Toure, and Adebayor was just behind. Adeboyor was really funny, he kept making a noise a bit like a horse – “brrrrrrrrrrrr brrrrrrrrrrr brrrrrrrrrrrr” and Toure kept stamping his feet like a horse! The singing was really loud stood out in the middle, but you couldn’t hear the Arsenal fans or the Champions League music!
Then we all had to run off and a steward took me to the Kop to meet my Dad. There’s a video of me being a mascot that you can watch just below what I’ve written. I’m the one on the end on the left hand side in front of Toure. You can see a bigger picture by clicking the picture at the top, too.
The match was great – my write up is here

Match Report:
What a match! I was a mascot (you can read about that in my diary) which was amazing! Me and my Dad watched the match in the Kop, and my Mum and my Sister, watched it in the main stand.
The atmosphere was great – it was loud – really loud! We didn’t stop singing all game, even when Arsenal were winning.
Arsenal played really well to start with – we couldn’t get the ball. Eventually Diaby scored with a hard, low shot at Reina’s near post. Disaster! If it stayed like this, we would be out! But teh lads came back and scored a great goal when Hyypia got away from Senderos and powered a header past Almunia and over Fabregas, who was on the line. Game on! We looked much better towards the end of the first half, but it went in 1-1 at half-time.
In the second half we were playing much better. We were passing well and Arsenal were beginning to look tired. With about 20 minutes, Torres got the ball at the edge of the box with his back to the goal. He turned and fired a hard shot into the top corner. We went mad singing the Fernando Torres song and bouncing up and down. This was way more like it, man!
We were looking good until Stevie took a shot but missed the ball. Walcott got it and ran from his own half, leaving players tripped up behind him. He passed it to Adebayor who slotted it in. Oh no! 2-2. We were out on away goals if it stayed like this. I wasn’t sure if we could do it, but my Dad was.
Straight after the Arsenal goal, Babel came running down the wing, went towards the box, took on Fabregas, who pulled him, and sent him crashing into Toure, who pulled him to the ground. Penalty!! The Kop went crazy! Up stepped Gerrard. Bang, into the corner of the net. 3-2!!
Arsenal attacked, but into injury time, Kuyt cleared a corner and Babel chased the ball. Only Fabregas was back for Arsenal, and Babel steamed passed him to be one-on-one with Almunia. Bang! 18 yards out and tucked it past the keeper into the net. 4-2!! Game over!
What a match!!

Match Report:
I watched this on TV with my Dad and Grandad. It was good game. We played pretty well. Kolo Toure said Liverpool would be scared to come to the Emirates – we proved him wrong! Ha!
Rafa made loads of changes from Wednesday night. Crouch started up front, Benayoun and Pennant played, Finnan and Arbeloa were back in, and Plessis got his debut. Even though there were lots of changes to the team, we played really well. The man of the match was Crouch. I don’t agree with that – Crouch played well, but I thought Plessis should have got man of the match, because he is a Reserves player and he did well.
In the first half we had twice as many shots and twice as many corners as Arsenal. We played really well and we really looked like we’d score. Crouch did a great shot from outside the box that Almunia only just got to )but I think it might have hit the woodwork if he hadn’t. Even Plessis had a long shot (but it went over). Arsenal didn’t look anywhere near as good, and at the end of the first half, just as Arsenal were starting to play better, Pepe hit the ball up to Crouch, who chested it to Benayoun, who played it back to Crouch, who tricked the defender with a neat bit of skill and then shot it low into the corner. Goal!! 1-0 right before half time.
In the second half Arsenal looked a bit better. Pennant made a silly foul and gave Arsenal a free kick. They crossed it into the penalty area and Bendtner headed it in. Reina didn’t even move! Why can’t Reina save headers? We are useless at defending free-kicks and corners! It makes me very cross and my Dad always think we are rubbish at saving set-pieces and the other team will score every time!. 1-1. Booooo!
We kept playing well after that and could have scored again. Voronin came on and was useless, and Gerrard and Torres came on and looked good. Arsenal looked really tired, which might be good news for Tuesday night. In the end we held on for 1-1. Lucas could have given away a penalty at the end when he pulled Fabregas back, but the ball had already gone so Phil Dowd (the ref) didn’t give it. Phew!

Match Report:
This was on TV, and me, my Dad and Grandad all watched it together.
I was nervous because Arsenal are a good team. But we played really, especially in the first half. Arsenal started well, and after 20 minutes scored a goal when Arsenal got a corner. van Persie passed to Fabregas, and Fabregas passed it back to van Persie who crossed it into the box. Adebayour got free of his marker and headed it into the net. Disaster. 1-0!
But then, just a few minutes later, Babel passed to Gerrard who passed to Torres who gave it back to Gerrard, who ran into the box past Toure and made a great passed it across the six yard area and Kuyt came sliding in and scored! 1-1. That’s more like it.
Arsenal had more possession than us, and we were under a lot of pressure, but at half-time it was still 1-1.
In the second half Arsenal were all over us. It was very nerve-wracking. I was sure Arsenal would score again but we defended really well – Even Kuyt was playing at right back some of the time! In fact, we were a bit lucky not to give away a penalty when Kuyt tackled Hleb in the box. I didn’t think it was a real penalty, but sometimes the ref gives them for that kind of tackle!
So, the match finished 1-1, and it’s off to Anfield next Tuesday to finish the job off!

Match Report:
Me, my Grandad and my Dad all watched this on TV. It was great. It always is good when we play Everton – the crowd sounded really loud.
We played really well in the first half, and Torres scored a great goal when Yakubu lost the ball just outside the area when Alonso tackled him and passed the ball to Kuyt who did a little side kick to Torres who ran around the defender and pushed it over Howard’s head.
We could have scored lots more – Babel missed, Kuyt missed, Lucas missed and Gerrard hit the post with a perfect volley from outside the area. If it had gone in it would. have been a fantastic goal. Everton didn’t really get the ball, and only Arteta really had a shot in the whole first half.
In the second half Everton were a bit better and we really attacking as much. We were keeping the ball in midfield, and I didn’t really think Everton would score. We didn’t have many chances in the second half, but Gerrard did do a fantastic shot from the wing. I don’t think Howard expected it and he only just saved it. Eventually the final whistle went. 1-0! We did it. 5 points clear again.
Gerrard and Torres were our best players. Lucas and Alonso were pretty rubbish. Hyypia and Skrtel did great and it was great to see Riise playing well again. Well done lads!

Match Report:
I watched this on TV. It was awful. The referee – Steve Bennett – was a disaster – he did his job rubbishly. If we tackled, we got a yellow card. If they tackled, they got a free-kick! I bet he supports Man Utd. He was terrible and he should be sacked. He’s useless. Even Andy Gray, who hates Liverpool, admitted he was useless!
We were playing quite well, but Masch got sent off for a second yellow card when we already 1-0 down, so the game-plan was out and we were never really in it from then? To be honest, we didn’t play very well at all. Gerrard didn’t do much, Pepe was a nightmare – he made two or three good saves, but he made more mistakes than he did things right today.
Babel did OK, Torres was alright, Alonso did nothing, and Jamie Carragher was pretty rubbish – much too slow for the Man Utd attackers. I hate losing, but losing to Man Utd is terrible. I don’t think we would have won this if Masch hadn’t been sent off, but we might have drawn it. Instead, we end up losing 3-0! Thanks Mr Bennett. And thanks Masch – next time know when to shut up! Actually, Gerrard should have told him to stop talking, but he was no-where to be seen. He did come over and shout at him in the end – but only after he’d already been sent off! A bit late! Rafa looked very very cross about it all. At the end he was walking by the referee and he was just staring at him. I wonder if Rafa shouted at him – I think he probably did!
I’m very cross that we lost. Very very cross. It was rubbish!

Match Report:
Watched this match on the Internet, because it wasn’t on TV and we didn’t have tickets.
We got off to a terrible start! Reading had a free-kick, the ball went across the area and came to Matejovsky, who hit a really good shot that beat Reina and went into the roof of the net. What a terrible start.
We did a lot of attacking after that, and after 19 minutes Masch got the ball on the edge of the box and hit a screamer into the net. 1-1! That was his first goal for Liverpool! Fantastic.
Babel had a really good first half. He was running at the Reading defenders a lot and had a couple of good shots. He did score from one of them , but it was disallowed. Masch was playing really well – defending a lot but attacking, too. Gerrard was making some good passes and Torres was finding it hard because the Reading players were always fouling him.
I would score again before half-time, but we couldn’t do it, so we finished 1-1 at the break.
The second half got off to a fantastic start. We got a free kick on the left and Gerrard banged it into the box. It went straight to Torres who headed it past the diving Hahnemann who couldn’t reach it. 2-1 Liverpool and 20 goals for Torres in the Prem! Fantastic!
The rest of the second half was very tense. Me and my Dad thought Reading would score because they kept attacking and had lots of free kicks and corners. They even had a free kick right at the end and Pepe had to make a great save to stop them equalizing. I was very nervous we wouldn’t win. But then, right at the end, Hahnemann came forward for a Reading free kick, but the ball came to Alonso and as Hahnemann was running back, Alonso shot from inside the Liverpool half and only just missed.
We did well to win. Another three points. We just need Everton to lose tomorrow!

Match Report:
This was on TV so I could watch it on Sky Sports.
The first half was pretty dull really because we only had four shots – and Inter had 11! They couldn’t score though – we were defending too well. I did think they might score – 3 times – but they couldn’t because Pepe was too good and made some great saves.
Even though we didn’t have many shots we played well, but I couldn’t help being a bit nervous because Inter are a good side. I was relieved to see us go in 0-0 at half time.
In the second half, we looked more attacking, and we got lucky because Burdisso got sent off for Inter. I didn’t think he deserved to be sent off because it wasn’t a bad foul. but never mind, it was good for us.
We were having lots of attacks. Babel was playing OK, Kuyt was doing quite well, and Gerrard and Torres looked good. But then, Torres got the ball on the edge of the area. He was facing away from the goal but he controlled it, span round and shot – GOOOOOAAAAAAAAAAAL
1-0. We are through! Bye bye Inter
Rafa took Babel off because he had a yellow card and brought Benayoun on, and looked quite good. Inter kept attacking and had shots but they couldn’t get them on target. Mancini tried some subs for Inter, but what was the point? They were never going to score 4 goals to knock us out!
Rafa brought on Pennant for Msch, and Riise for Kuyt, and we just kept hold of the ball until the final whistle went. What a great night!
New Fernando Torres Song
Somebody made up a really cool song for Fernando Torres. I’m looking forward to singing this when I go to Anfield next time. They even jump up and down on the bit that goes na-na-na-na!!

Match Report:
This wasn’t on TV, but my Dad had it on the internet, so I saw a bit of it – mostly when my Dad called me to see bits, because it’s quite hard to watch on the internet.
I thought we’d win 6-0, but in the end it was only 3-0
3-0 will do! We seemed to play quite well, and I don’t think Newcastle ever really looked like scoring, except for in the second half when Obefemi Martins did a really long shot and it hit the bar.
Gerrard and Torres look awesome. Rafa is playing a 4-2-3-1 formation these days, and Stevie is loving it – he is playing so well, and him and Fernando are great together. The rest of the team played really well, too – we seem to be playing really well as a team these days.
I was wondering when would score. Then, with just a few minutes to go before half time, I went to get some medicine from my mum, and heard my dad shout. Pennant had scored. My dad came running through with his computer so I could see the replay. Enrique tried to clear the ball, but Pennant was really close to him, and the ball hit Pennant and went over Harper. 1-0!
But then, just 3 minutes later, Gerrard went down the left and played the ball through to Torres. Torres did a dummy – he let the ball go past him, which tricked Harper, and let Torres go round him so he could shoot it into the net. 2-0!
The second half got off to a good start too. This time it was Torres who went bombing forward and played the ball to Stevie, who was one on one with Harper. Stevie just did a low chip over him. 3-0!!
The rest of the half was a bit scrappy. Rafa made some substitutions so he could rest Torres and Gerrard for Inter on Tuesday, and even though we had a few more shots, we didn’t score any more.
We needed to win this, and we did. What a result!!
