Match Report:

I watched this on Sky Sports with my Dad.  When I saw the team sheet I said to my Dad “You’d think you’d care about every cup, but he doesn’t seem to care about the Carling Cup!  I think he’ll get the sack if he doesn’t care about the cups” But in the first half I was really surprised because the team played really well.

It was great to see Alonso back fit, and he put Babel in, Leiva and Hobbs to start.  Hobbs looked a bit shaky but Leiva played really well in teh first half.  In fact the whole team played really well.  Itandje made a really good save from Lampard, Leiva had a shot saved, Babel made lots of breaks, Voronin played really well.  Even Momo was doing quite well!

It was a really fast first half, with lots of possession in the penalty areas.  The ball was moving from one end to the other and back again all again.  It was quite exciting to watch.  We could certainly have scored a few times – especially when Babel tried to pas to Leiva when he should have passed to Voronin!  Chelsea could have scored a couple of goals too, so 0-0 at half time was pretty good.

The second half was totally different: we were hopeless. It was all Chelsea.  We had no ideas – we didn’t seem to know what to do when we had the ball.  Lampard scored with a deflection, and then Crouch did a two footed tackle, which was crazy, and he got sent off.  Then it was all Chelsea.  At the very end, Shevcheko scored a very good goal.  And out we go

Match Report:

It was a bit lousy at the start of the game – I thought Torres was injured, which would have been very bad, and Reading looked better than us.

But then Benayoun scored a scorcher – great skill and a blast into the net.  But then Convey made it 1-1 with a good strike from the edge of the box.  The half finished 1-1 with Liverpool playing better than at the start of the game.

In the second half, Torres put us back in the lead with a great goal from near the edge of the area – a lovely side-foot into the back of the net.  Then Reading made it 2-2 after there was mix up in the Liverpool box.  But then Rafa brought on Riise and Gerrard and Jon Arne made a break down the left, got passed his marker and played a beautiful pass into the penalty area and Torres smacked it into the back of the net.  3-2 Liverpool.

Then, just a few minutes Torres was one on one with the keeper and he ran around the goalie and calmly tapped it in.  4-2!  Ace!
