Information:

Pepe Reina is a good goalkeeper.  Sometimes he has dodgy moment, and my Dad says he reminds him of Bruce Grobbelar – either a nightmare or totally brilliant.  Sometimes he makes bad mistakes, but usually he makes some amazing saves – just like his penalty saves in the F A Cup final against West Ham.

Pepe has kept a lot of clean sheets, and he is a big reason why Liverpool have done so well at Anfield this season.  I like Pepe Reina a lot, and if I was a goalkeeper I would want to be like him.

Pepe has also caught the eye of the Spanish team and has been called up to the squad recently.

Information:

Stevie G is my favourite player ever.  He is just the greatest.  I love the way he plays – he is always running and he tackles like he means it.  He has to be the best passer of the ball and he scores some amazing goals.  I’d love to meet him one day, and get him to show me a few of his tricks.

He is captain of Liverpool, and has been with the reds since he was 8 years old (wouldn’t that be cool!).  He said that his proudest moment was lifting the European Cup for Liverpool in 2005.

Stevie has always supported Liverpool, and he said that being made captain was a dream come true.  As well as the European Cup he has won FA Cup, UEFA Cup and League Cup medals with Liverpool – all he is missing is the Premiership.  In 2006 he was voted PFA Player of the Year – quite right, too!! :)

Sami Hyypia

Information:

Sami Hyypia plays centre half and is from Finland.  Lots of people think he is one of the best centre-halves in Europe, and I think I would agree.  He is strong, great at headers and always seems to know where the ball is going to go.  He is a big favourite with the Kop.

Sami started playing with a club called MyPa Anjalankoski, and he helped them win the Finnish Cup in 1992. He made his international debut for Finland against Tunisia.  In 1995 he was spotted and signed by Willem II from Holland.

After Liverpool sold Fowler and Redknapp, Sami was made captain by Gerard Houllier in April 2002 until Steven Gerrard took over October 2003.

Information:

If there’s one player you can guarantee will give you 100 per cent every game it’s Jamie Carragher – he is ace.

He signed as a professional in October 1996 and played his first game in the second leg of the Coca Cola Cup semi-final against Middlesbrough.  Three months later he played his first premiership game for Liverpool and celebrated it by scoring with a header at the Kop end against Aston Villa.  How cool is that!! :)

He is one of my favourite players because he really wants to win, and he always plays hard but fair.  My Dad says he would have Carragher in any team he ever picked, and I would, too,

Information:

Peter Crouch is tall, very very tall.  In fact, I wonder if he could be the tallest player in the world ;-) He plays centre-forward for Liverpool and England, and scores quite a lot of goals.

Rafa signed him from Southampton in 2005, and he is a first team regular.  He is pretty skillful, but I wish sometimes that he would try harder to win the ball.  My Dad gets very cross sometimes because he doesn’t seem to like to fight for the ball, and he falls over a lot.  But he does have a habit of scoring goals, and that is a good thing, whatever my Dad says :)
