Date: 13 May 2006
Opponent: Chelsea
Score: 2-1
Scorers: Riise (9), Crouch (80) Schevchenko (44)
Report:
Everyone thought Chelsea would walk this because they had been so good last season. Ha!! Riise put Liverpool in front, and although Chelsea equalized, Crouchy was there to head in the winner 10 minutes from time.
It was a pretty angry match – Lampard and Ballack were lucky not to get sent off for Chelsea – I guess they don’t like losing
. Rene had a great game, and Riise did, too, and it’s always nice to beat Chelsea ![]()

Report:
What a match! It was the first ever match that I have sat down and watched from start to finish on TV, and I am so glad I did. I really thought we’d lost it, but then Stevie G scored two amazing goals. With only seconds to go he hit a half-volley from like 30 yards and it screamed in to make it 3-3 and force extra time.
Eventually we won on penalties, and Pepe Reina was definitely the hero of that shoot-out, saving a few. Great game – I even bought the DVD ![]()
CSKA Moscow 2005
Competition: super_cup
Date: 1 June 2005
Opponent: CSKA Moscow
Score: 3-1
Scorers: Cisse (82, 103), Garcia (109)
Carvalho (28)
Report:
It was sub Cisse who scored twice to give Liverpool another cup. The reds had already won the Champion’s League, and this match was against the UEFA Cup winners, who were CSKA Moscow.
It looked like Moscow were going to win, but Cisse equalized to force extra time, and then he and Garcia sealed victory in extra time. From what I read, some people thought it was a boring match, but I don’t see how any game Liverpool win, especially to win a cup, can be boring ![]()

Report:
All I can say is that I wish I had seen it. It sounds amazing, and my Dad and Grandad told me that they have never seen a match like it.
Liverpool went behind in the first minute amd were 3-0 down at half time. But after half-time it all changed, and Stevie G showed why he is captain, getting the Reds back in the game with a great headed goal. Smicer and Alonso made it 3-3. The match went to penalties, and Dudek was amazing, saving three penalties to make Liverpool winners!!
Manchester United 2003

Opponent: Manchester United
Score: 2-0
Scorers: Gerrard (39), Owen (86)
Report:
Liverpool had a bad season in 2003, but one good thing was winning the Wrothington Cup. What made that even better was beating Man U to do it
Owen and Gerrard scored, but everything I have read says that Dudek was the Red’s hero, and if he hadn’t played so well, Man U would have probably won – well done Jerzy, I say!! I know some peopel say that this cup is meaningless, but hey, it’s a cup and we won it ![]()
Alaves 2001
Competition: uefa_cup

Opponent: CD Alaves
Score: 5-4 (golden goal)
Scorers: Babbel (4), Gerrard (16), McAllister (41), Fowler (73), Roura (117 og)
Alonso (27), Moreno (48, 51), Cruyff (89)
Report:
Gary McAllister was the hero of this game, but from what I have heard, the whole team were heroes with him. There were 8 goals – yes, 8 – Alaves had 2 sent off and the match was won with a golden goal. Phew! Sounds amazing!
People were saying that Liverpool were boring, but how can you be boring and play in a match like that? Well done lads!!

This was the last time Liverpool won the league, and I wasn’t even born . But it sounds like they had an amazing season. Kenny Dalgish was manager and they had some really great players.
They played 38 games,, winning 23 of them, drawing 10 and only losing 5. They scored 78 goals, but only let in 37, and they scored 79 points. What a season, well done lads
I don’t know about you, but I think it’s time for another league title ![]()
