This song is named Leave the memories alone and is made by a band named Fuel.

I like it because it’s a pop rock sort of thing but more of a rock song.

Another reason why I like it is because it’s the good bye the goodbye theme for Ric flair (a WWE legend)

Match Report:

I watched the highlights of this on MOTD.

It looked like we played quite well.  Rafa made 9 changes to the Champs League side from Tuesday night.  Only Skrtel and Reina from that team played against Birmingham today.

Birmingham took the lead in the first half when Forssell scored.  McFadden ran down teh right wing against Riise, doing step-overs, and Riise didn’t tackle him.  McFadden crossed it to Forssell who let it bounce and smacked it past Reina who was charging out of his goal doing a WWE Smackdown dive!  Crouch did have a shot in the first half, but Taylor saved it.

In the second half, Skrtel founled McFadden and Birmingham got the free-kick, which Larsson curled into the top left hand corner.  2-0!

But we came right back into it.  Pennant made a run and passed the ball to Benayoun.  Benayoun passed it back to Pennant who slipped the ball to Voronin, who was in the box.  Voronin knocked the ball to Crouch who smashed it past Taylor.  2-1!

Then Pennant made another run.  He gave the ball to Lucas, who ran down the wing and crossed the ball with his right foot.  Benayoun headed it towards goal and it hit Jaidi’s back and went in.  2-2!  Me and my Dad don’t think it was an own goal, we are going to give it to Yossi.

2-2. Great result for us - we should be safe in 4th now :)

Match Report:

I went to this match with my Dad.  We sat in Block 105 of the Kop like always, so we had a great view of all the action.  The atmosphere was loud - even teh Chelsea fans were quite loud.

I was nervous about this game because it was a semi-final and I want us to get to the Final and destroy Barca 8-0!  Chelsea made Liverpool play towards the Kop in teh first half, but that was OK because I got to see Dirk’s right in front of me (and Riise’s own goal!!)

For the first half an hour we could hardly get the ball because Chelsea’s passing was great.  We settled down after a bit and then we looked good.  In fact we looked like the best team in the world.  We were tackling well, passing well and we looked like we would score.

After 43 minutes, there was a foul Torres and we got a free kick, that we took quickly.  The ball was hit long to Kuyt, who crossed it.  Chelsea cleared it but Kuyt made a good tackle on Lampard.  He turned around and passed it to Mascherano, who chipped it into the box and Dirk ran onto it and smashed it under Cech’s leg.  1-0!!

We could have scored two or three in the first half - Torres had two chances, and Dirk had another, and Gerrard had a shot from outside the box.

In the second half we were much better than Chelsea.  Gerrard had a curling shot that Cech tipped over the bar and we looked like we were going to win quite easily.  But then, Kalou got the ball on the left and took on Mascherano and Arbeloa, flicked a cross into the box and Anelka was coming in on the back post.  Riise got in front of Anelka and he should have cleared it with his right foot, but because he doesn’t like to use his right foot he dived to head it.  He headed it straight past Pepe!!  1-1 in the 94th minute!

Even though Chelsea have the away goal, I know we will get to the final.  We’ll just have to go to Stamford Bridge and beat them!  2-1 will be a good score.

Match Report:

I watched the highlights of this game on MOTD.

It looked like we played fantastically.  Fulham couldn’t really tackle us and our passing was great.  Rafa made lots of changes to the team, and some people would say it wasn’t a very good team, but they played really well, and they never looked like losing.  Fulham had a couple of chances but Reina made some good saves.

Pennants goal was good, but he made it look quite easy.  Voronin passed to Lucas, who played a through ball to Pennant who ran into the box past a defender.  He controlled the ball and smacked it past Keller into the roof of the net.

Our second goal was scored by Crouch.  Pennant played a through ball to Crouch who knocked the ball past the defended and hit his shot, which went underneath Keller and rolled into the net.

This was a really good result.

Match Report:

We watched this match on Sky, just me and my Dad.

There was a long silence at the start to remember Hillsborough, where 96 people died.  It’s 19 years ago on Tuesday that it happened.  It’s amazing when so many people are all quiet at the same time.

We started the match pretty well.  We had a lot of the ball, but everyone in a red shirt seemed to have a bad first touch, so we weren’t getting very far.  Babel was doing a bit down the left, and Kuyt was doing a bit from the right, but it wasn’t very good quality.

Blackburn had a goal disallowed for off-side.  Roberts was just offside!  Gerrard could have been given a penalty when he fell over Friedel, but it wasn’t given.  Then Samba pushed Gerrard over ust outside the box, and it should have been kick right on the line, but Alan Wiley gave nothing!

Torres missed a chance, Kuyt headed wide and Babel shot it into the upper tier of the Anny Road!

We had most of the possession and we really should have scored.  The second half needs to be much better if we are going to win!

I missed some of the second half, because I was helping my sister on Football Manager.  I saw the goals though!

Gerrard’s goal was fantastic.  Benayoun (who came on for Babel) passed through to Gerrard, then Gerrard did a one-two with Lucas and pushed the ball through Sambas legs to go one-on-one with Friedel.  As cool as you like, he hit along the floor and into the goal.  1-0!  Before the goal he should have had a penalty, too!

The second goal was excellent.  Gerrard crossed the ball with a high ball from the right.  Torres jumped and flicked it with his head past Friedel.  2-0!  And Torres gets his 30th goal of the season!!

Then Voronin came on for Torres and Riise came on for Alonso.

The third goal was pass from Benayoun that the defender got, but it came to Riise who passed the ball across the six yard area and Voronin slid across the ground and prodded it in.  3-0!!

They pulled a goal back at the end with a Santa Cruz volley and some bad defending, but it was too late by then.

We played well and never looked like losing.  Well done lads!

Bobo the Mascot!

Saturday, April 12th, 2008

imageOn Tuesday night I was a mascot for our match against Arsenal in the Champions League.  My Dad won a competition and the prize was 2 tickets to the match and the chance to be a mascot.  Me and my Dad already had tickets, so my Mum and Sister had the free ones.  Me and my Dad were in the Kop as usual, and they went in the main stand with the rest of the mascots and their mums and dads.

When my Dad told me he had won I was really scared, but we talked about it and I felt much better after.  By the time Tuesday came I was really excited!  I had to go to school for a bit first, but then my Mum picked me up.  After lunch we went up to Liverpool.  We had to be there early because all the mascots had to get dressed and have a rehearsal (but not on the pitch!).  Liverpool legend Brian Hall showed us what to do.  Then, after some tea, we all got on a posh coach a bit like the ones the players use and went to Anfield.

We walked to a special door at the ground and all the mascots went in while our mums and dads went and sat down.  When we were inside the ground we all lined up inside before we went out to line up by the pitch and waited for the players.  It was very strange standing on the grass instead of sitting in a seat!  We had to line up off the turf - just by the side.  All the singing was very loud.  It was unusual because the Arsenal fans were singing, and I’ve never heard that before :)

Pretty soon we were singing You’ll Never Walk Alone and I knew the players would be coming soon.  I was wearing a long sleeved Liverpool kit, so that meant I would be holding an Arsenal player’s hand, but I didn’t know who it would be. It turned out to be Kolo Toure, the Arsenal defender.  I was the last person in the line, and I was in front of Toure, and Adebayor was just behind.  Adeboyor was really funny, he kept making a noise a bit like a horse - “brrrrrrrrrrrr brrrrrrrrrrr brrrrrrrrrrrr” and Toure kept stamping his feet like a horse!  The singing was really loud stood out in the middle, but you couldn’t hear the Arsenal fans or the Champions League music!

Then we all had to run off and a steward took me to the Kop to meet my Dad.  There’s a video of me being a mascot that you can watch just below what I’ve written.  I’m the one on the end on the left hand side in front of Toure.  You can see a bigger picture by clicking the picture at the top, too.

The match was great - my write up is here

Match Report:

What a match!  I was a mascot (you can read about that in my diary) which was amazing!  Me and my Dad watched the match in the Kop, and my Mum and my Sister, watched it in the main stand.

The atmosphere was great - it was loud - really loud!  We didn’t stop singing all game, even when Arsenal were winning.

Arsenal played really well to start with - we couldn’t get the ball.  Eventually Diaby scored with a hard, low shot at Reina’s near post.  Disaster!  If it stayed like this, we would be out!  But teh lads came back and scored a great goal when Hyypia got away from Senderos and powered a header past Almunia and over Fabregas, who was on the line.  Game on!  We looked much better towards the end of the first half, but it went in 1-1 at half-time.

In the second half we were playing much better.  We were passing well and Arsenal were beginning to look tired.  With about 20 minutes, Torres got the ball at the edge of the box with his back to the goal.  He turned and fired a hard shot into the top corner.  We went mad singing the Fernando Torres song and bouncing up and down.  This was way more like it, man!

We were looking good until Stevie took a shot but missed the ball.  Walcott got it and ran from his own half, leaving players tripped up behind him.  He passed it to Adebayor who slotted it in.  Oh no!  2-2.  We were out on away goals if it stayed like this.  I wasn’t sure if we could do it, but my Dad was.

Straight after the Arsenal goal, Babel came running down the wing, went towards the box, took on Fabregas, who pulled him, and sent him crashing into Toure, who pulled him to the ground.  Penalty!!  The Kop went crazy!  Up stepped Gerrard.  Bang, into the corner of the net.  3-2!!

Arsenal attacked, but into injury time, Kuyt cleared a corner and Babel chased the ball.  Only Fabregas was back for Arsenal, and Babel steamed passed him to be one-on-one with Almunia.  Bang!  18 yards out and tucked it past the keeper into the net.  4-2!!  Game over!

What a match!!
